Brought to Reality

This final photography assignment was inspired by my professor. I had struggled to find a compelling idea and, after a semester of restrictive assignments, I sought an opportunity to freely express my creativity. This work represents my imagination and the scenes I envision during daydreams. I captured random photos, allowing the lighting and mood to guide my subsequent drawings. My primary influence was the show The Amazing World of Gumball, which seamlessly blends 2D characters into a 3D world.

Senior Thesis Theme Logo

For my college thesis during my senior year, I designed a logo that would encapsulate the essence of our senior gallery show. The 1920s speakeasy theme I chose serves as a tribute to the hidden talents of my classmates and me, reminiscent of the artists who flourished in the shadows of that era. This logo not only represents our artistic endeavors but also serves as a beacon, inviting viewers to discover the works that might otherwise go unnoticed. It will be prominently featured on all marketing materials, ensuring that our collective effort and creativity shine brightly, much like the art of those overlooked artists from the past. As we unveil our work, we aim to create a buzz that echoes the excitement and allure of a speakeasy, encouraging everyone to join us in celebrating our unique contributions to the art world.

Sleeping Beauty

In my first attempt at using watercolor paints, I sought to capture the serene beauty of a woman peacefully sleeping in a bed that floats gently amidst the clouds under a starry night sky. The soft, flowing hues of blue and purple blend harmoniously together, evoking a sense of tranquility and dreams. Each brushstroke conveys the ethereal quality of the scene, as the clouds cradle the bed like a protective embrace, while twinkling stars shimmer overhead, adding a touch of magic. The woman’s relaxed expression reflects a deep sense of calm, inviting viewers to immerse themselves in this enchanting moment. This illustration not only marks my initial journey into watercolor but also serves as a reminder of the dreams that can take flight when one finds solace in the beauty of the night.
